Task 1A: Defining concepts
In general terms, I think language is a capacity that all living beings have to communicate with others. In humans, language has advanced and has two ways of expressing itself, the first is through a series of symbols that allow us to express ideas, thoughts, and feelings. The second is a set of articulated sounds that allow us to communicate and express what we think or feel. There are many types of languages, it's not necessarily oral or written, and it can also be by signs or gestures.
- Learning:
It’s a process by which knowledge and skills are acquired or built with respect to a subject. To learn, we need an orientation or continuous repetition on the subject. Through this process, the skills, knowledge, and behaviors of a person are modified, with the practice, what is learned is better stored. I really like the phrase “the practice makes the master”, true learning occurs when something is practiced and serves you for a lifetime.
- Teaching:
For me, teaching is more than just explaining and evaluating a topic, it’s guiding a person to acquire or consolidate knowledge through different strategies, techniques, methods, and resources; it can also be to find the best way to guide in a meaningful way using the methods appropriate to the specific needs of each student. Through this mechanism, the knowledge has been transmitted from generation to generation; people need to be oriented to learn by ourselves.
